in a country inured to gun violen, what hpehat elry school in newport ia, t st > teacher shot. > they didn't explain what it was, but they did, say, janai, it was not an accident. ![]() police say this was not an accidental shooting. abc's senior investigative reporter aaron katersky is here. police say a 6-year-old boy, a first grader, somehow got ahold of a gun and opened fire at his teacher critically wounding her. turning now though to alarming new details, a shooting at an elementary school in newport news, virginia. > all right, brittany, we'll check back in with you in just a moment. so in theory he is coming into this office as the weakest speaker in decades, and that could make it incredibly hard for this white house to work with him, but i will say, it is also possible that republicans will have to work with democrats more to get even the basics done. but as rachel mentioned, in order to get this win, he gave up incredible concessions, and he called into question whether or not a small group will be able to immediately call for his removal. you know, he was asked last night will he be speaker for two years? he said 1,000%. will they be able to trust that mccarthy can deliver when he promises? and there's the question of how long mccarthy will last. they are worried about who to negotiate with, how to negotiate with the house going forward. > maryalice, what does it mean for democrats, and how much more difficult does this make biden's job working with congress and that slim republican majority in the house? > reporter: yeah, whit, you have to assume that they are worried here. they have to assume, given what we've seen in the last few days, that republicans are really going to struggle to even get the most basic bills passed to pass a budget, to pass a government spending bill, to raise the debt limit to pay for but he also added, the american people expect their leaders to govern in a way that puts their needs above all else, and that is what we need to do now, and the white house is clearly worried. overnight he did congratulate kevin mccarthy and put out a statement saying, i am prepared to work with republicans when i can, and the voters made clear they expect republicans to be prepared to work with me as well. so how is the biden administration reacting to all this? > reporter: yeah, whit, the president had called all this embarrassing. for more now let's bring in our white house correspondent maryalice parks and, maryalice, good morning. > rachel scott, we know it's been a long night and long week for you. so this was like perfect timing, saying it on air.Members and kevin mccarthy giving him major credit for helping him get across the finish line, whit. "We had planned on getting married last year, but then I was diagnosed. "When she said, 'Let's get married,' the feeling that I got was a rush of excitement, nervousness, of course. Shortly after, Roberts made the wedding news official when she said live on "GMA" during an interview that she was "saying yes to marriage" in 2023. It was just us hanging out in our little hole-in-the-wall Mexican spot and putting calamari rings on each other and saying, 'Let's go. "Now looking back, it was pretty fitting for us to not have a down on one knee and one person doing it and who was going to propose. ![]() "We took the calamari rings and we slapped them on each other's fingers and we just we proposed to one another," Roberts said. The couple decided to wed while eating at a favorite restaurant together in Connecticut, where they put rings of calamari on each other's fingers. The official marriage proposal came in a fittingly casual way at the end of 2022. ![]() Roberts was no longer traveling for work and appeared on "GMA" from the basement of their home, where Laign suddenly became her fill-in producer. "We could have walked away at any time, and we didn't." A decision to say 'I do'ĭuring the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Roberts' and Laign's relationship, like so many others, was tested on a different level.īoth women said the pandemic proved to be the longest "stretch of time" they spent together, uninterrupted. There was no reason why we had to stay," she said. "Unfortunate that we had to go through it, but that we've both supported each other on both sides of those roles."Īmid the ups and downs of their health issues and personal losses, Roberts said their relationship "has not always been a bed of roses." She and Laign went through couples counseling and Roberts said at times they had to "fight" to stay together while also fighting for their lives. "Our roles as caregivers and patients, we're pretty fortunate," Laign said. This kind of heater has two heating elements: 600W and 900W. If Julie wanted to work from home, she would probably buy an oil-filled radiator like this one. Not only are space heaters more dangerous to use (burns, house fires, etc.), they can also cause circuit breakers to pop because those circuits weren't sized for electric heat. Let's say they didn't install the radiant underfloor heating and decided to use space heaters instead. That's a small price to pay for Julie and Josh to have warm feet! Assuming the heat is on 20% of the time, it would cost $3.46 per month for radiant underfloor heating in this bathroom. There are 720 hours in an average month (24 x 30). 0.024 is the cost to run the heat mat for one hour. This is the most confusing part, I think, so let's review. To estimate the monthly cost, we enter the cost per hour, the number of hours in a month, and the % of time it runs. Let's say her thermostat cycles on for one minute every five minutes. Julie keeps her bathroom floor at a comfortable 78℉. There's a thermostat on the wall with a remote sensor in the floor and that cycles on and off as needed to keep the floor at your desired temperature. I told you the number would be surprisingly small. $0.024 that's dollars, or 2.4 cents per hour. I plug these numbers into my calculator to get the result. Next, I enter my average electric rate calculated above. That gets divided by 1,000 to convert it to 0.18 kilowatts. The website says our 1.5-foot by 10-foot mat uses 180 watts. So now we're ready to plug numbers into the formula. That comes out to $0.134, which is 13.4 cents per kilowatt-hour. To determine my electric rate, I divide my total charge $152.77 by KWH used 1,140. There are a lot of numbers with various rates, but don't get confused. Here is a snippet from my December 2020 electric bill. This number will be surprisingly small, but we're not done yet. For estimation purposes, let's make it simple and just divide the total charge by the total number of kilowatt-hours (kWH) you consumed.Ĭost Per Hour – Multiply the kilowatts by the rate per kilowatt-hour and the result is the cost to run your mat for a solid hour. Rate – Look at your electric bill and you'll see multiple charges that can be confusing. Household electricity is measured in kilowatts, so you need to divide watts by 1,000 to convert it to kilowatts. This should be listed on the website along with the prices of the mats. Watts – First, you need to know the wattage of your heating mats. ![]() You can do this before purchasing the system to get a good estimate of your operating costs. It's very easy to calculate the cost of running a single-mat radiant underfloor heating system. ![]() Watch the video to see how radiant underfloor heating was installed under tile in their master bathroom. 1/16/2024 0 Comments Bell tower barberIke’s Barber Shop is the fist and original barber shop of Weston.
